Pilates exercise is very safe but, as with all forms of physical exercise, it is prudent to consult your doctor before starting Pilates sessions if you have any concerns.
Clients must complete a Client Questionnaire before their first session, outlining any specific health concerns or injuries. Clients are required to inform their teacher, by email or in person before the class, of any subsequent and material changes to their health condition which may affect their suitability for classes. This includes but is not limited to injuries, pregnancy, high blood pressure, osteoporosis.
These sessions are not a substitute for medical advice or treatment. If you have any doubts about the suitability of the exercises, you should refer back to your medical practitioner. The teacher can accept no liability for personal injury related to participation in a session if:
Exercise should be performed at a pace which feels comfortable to you. PAIN is the body’s warning system and SHOULD NOT BE IGNORED. Please inform your teacher immediately if you feel any discomfort, dizziness or other signs of being unwell during a session. Please also inform the teacher if you felt any discomfort after a previous session.
Do not take photos or videos of your class without prior consent of the teacher. If consent is given, any photos/videos must not include other clients/participants.
Clients should wear appropriate clothes which give freedom of movement, such as leggings, tracksuit trousers,shorts, t-shirts, sports bra (better than an underwired bra)shorts. Please note if you do wear shorts and they are very baggy or short it is best to wear cycling shorts underneath them. For hygienic reasons we ask that you wear socks to all sessions.
Please don’t: wear jeans or clothes with chunky seams, belts, zips, dangly jewellery or sharp, pointy rings or other piercings. We may ask you to remove piercings if we feel they are affecting your use of equipment or your ability to complete specific movements.
Please arrive on time for your class. All classes will finish at their scheduled time, and time lost through late arrival cannot be made up by extending your session.
We operate a strict 24-hour cancellation policy for private and group apparatus sessions. We reserve the right to charge full payment if you cancel with less than 24 hour’s notice or do not attend your session. Mat classes are not refundable, but if you miss a class you may attend another appropriate level class or one of our end of term/catch-up classes.
Clients who commit to 3 pre-paid terms each year are entitled to 3 free ‘holiday’ sessions a year.. Please advise your teacher when you would like to take your holiday sessions. The cost of these sessions will be deducted in advance from that term’s fees, or if you have already paid, they will be deducted from the following term’s fees. People attending drop-in classes are not eligible for the free ‘holiday’ sessions.
